DESCRIPTION:Education for Ministry Seminar Starts 7pm Monday September 28 \nIf you are curious and searching and you want to deepen your Christian faith\, then Education for Ministry may be for you. Come join us in the Gerber Library. \nEducation for Ministry (EfM) is an adult learning program that offers the basics of a theological education in the Hebrew Bible\, the New Testament\, church history\, liturgy\, and practical theology\, with a strong emphasis on theological reflection and discerning what God is calling you to do. Choose one of two tracks:  WIDE ANGLE: a 1 year deep study of selected topics from the Old and New Testaments\, church history and Christian ethics. OR CLASSIC: a comprehensive and deep study giving a full year to each area. Participants commit to one year at a time. \nIn addition to Bible study\, we practice theological reflection in small groups to bring our sacred texts into conversation with Christian tradition\, our personal experience\, personal belief and culture.  Trained mentors facilitate small group discussions and guide participants to examine life through an increasingly informed and inspired theological lens. \nThe Albany area seminar is sponsored by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church\, and all faithful people are welcome.  We meet at St. Andrews until the snow starts\, then meet on Zoom until March\, when we return on-site. The seminar meets weekly September – June\, with holiday breaks. \nEfM seminar starts September 28. We will accept new members into the group through Oct. 6.  \nCurious?
