50-day Bible winter challenge
A Journey with Matthew – A Winter Bible Challenge begins December 1
Everyone is invited to join in reading the Gospel of Matthew together in 50 days this winter. Matthew is the Gospel that we will be reading from regularly on Sundays this coming year, so this Bible challenge will help us dive deep into what we will hear on Sundays. We will be using the Forward Movement resource “A Journey with Matthew” (available in book form or as a digital download HERE).
As with our Bible Challenge reading Matthew this past fall, for each day the guide includes a passage from the Gospel of Matthew, a reflection by a notable Anglican leader, questions to ponder, and a prayer. We will begin reading on Monday December 1, and read each weekday, Mon-Fri, for 10 weeks, ending on Friday February 6. In that 50 days we will have read the whole Gospel according to Matthew.
You can undertake this in a couple of ways:
- Read on your own each day, knowing that many others are doing the same or
- Read on your own each day and on Thursday for a half hour at noon, join on zoom link here with Mother Martha and other parishioners to check in on the week’s readings
Whichever way you may choose to engage, may you be blessed by this Gospel challenge, and may our parish be strengthened as we undertake this holy reading together.
