Grow in the Spirit

St. Andrew’s offers a number of opportunities for adult education throughout the week and throughout the year.

Adult Forums

The Adult Forum meets on Sundays following the 10 a.m. service, from September through May, in the Parish Hall. The Adult Forum offers a variety of presentations and discussion topics including Bible study, church history, theology, and social issues. Past topics have included the history of the Episcopal Church and DEPO, The New Jim Crow, C. S. Lewis, and Harry Potter–to name a few!

Newcomer/Inquirer Class and Confirmation

Each year St. Andrew’s offers an Inquirer’s class for those seeking to know more about the Episcopal church. Adults and youth over sixteen years of age may be received or baptized into the church after completing this class. Please contact the parish office for further details.

St. Andrew’s Men’s Group

The St. Andrew’s Men’s Group is a new forum for men to meet in fellowship and talk about spiritual and personal matters. We think about what we are reading, air our views, share our experiences, argue with the author, and find Christian guidance. It is a good place to develop new friends and relationships.

St. Andrew’s – St. Paul’s Haiti Mission Partnership Work Group.

The St. Andrew’s – St. Paul’s Mission to the parish of  Christ the King and the school of St. Jacques in Haiti brings together three communities of God’s people. We do many things together in Christ’s name, but most of all we come together to grow in unity with one another and with Christ.

In 2010-11 we launched the $1 A DAY FOR HAITI campaign to raise money to assist the people of Christ the King parish and the community of Lahoye, Haiti. Your donations will help bring clean water, medical clinics and meals to the students and families of St. Jacques School. We hope you will help us with this task. Learn how you can help click here.

Prayers and Squares

If you have wondered who makes our wonderful Prayer Quilts, here is your opportunity to help to create them. You do not need to be an expert in sewing or quilting. Many hands are needed to cut, sew, stitch, and iron. Our Prayer Quilts have been a source of inspiration and help to many people going through difficult personal and health issues.
