Food Pantry Volunteers

St. Andrew's supplies food and cash contributions throughout the year to the FOCUS Food Pantry.  We also provide something else - MUSCLE!  Saturday, October 31 volunteers are needed to staff the Food Pantry.  Contract Lisa Walker to help out.

Shop Sunday

The days are getting shorter and summer is fading fast!  The workers at The Shop invite the parish to celebrate Fall with a tour of The Shop.  Sunday October 25th after the 10a.m. Eucharist.  The Shop will be open for touring and shopping.  Grab some apple cider and donuts as you browse through the sweaters and coats.

Pumpkin Sunday

The Eve of the Feast of All Saints is coming!  Sunday October 25th after the 10a.m. service kids (and kids at heart) are invited to carve a pumpkin in celebration.  All the necessary supplies will be in the old Choir Room downstairs below Carmichael Hall.  Non-carving adults are invited to enjoy Shop Sunday next door.

Missions Conference

The 9th Annual Diocesan Missions Conference will take place at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center Saturday October 24th from 9am until 4pm.  Join other members of the Albany Diocese to learn, celebrate and pray for the exciting mission activities of the churches in our Diocese.  Displays and workshops will focus on the wide ranging mission activities that are taking the love of Christ into the world.  In addition to the traditional workshops, you will be able to hear about some amazing mission activities from Albany to Africa in a Missions Fair venue.  Hear about our mission teams sent to Appalachia, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ireland, Louisiana and Nigeria.  Learn how we have ministered at home with food, clothing, rescue, shelter and counseling efforts.  If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Linda Stevens at LFStevens@aol.com or 518-279-9612.

Partners in Outreach

The next meeting of the members of the Partners in Outreach will take this Saturday at St. Peter's in Albany.  The group, which brings together members of several Episcopal churches in the Capital District, will discuss upcoming projects, including the establishment of an overflow shelter at St. Peter's.  Partners in Outreach is currently supporting work refurbishing a building for the Capital City Rescue Mission.  This Saturday's meeting will begin at 9a.m. - all are welcome!  You can find more information and pictures of the refurbishment process here, scroll down to "Cathedral Works Gets Down To Work".

Will you Visit a Shut-in?

We are looking for four to five persons who are willing to make a once-a-month visit to a member of St. Andrew's, once very active but now bed-ridden.  Volunteers should talk to Rev. Mary and/or leave their name at the church office.
